This rainy wedding day in Colorado all started because Makenna and Keven meet in Sioux Falls, SD at the University of Sioux Falls. Makenna was completing her undergraduate degree in Biology and playing volleyball while Kevin was finishing his masters degree in Education Administration. Kevin proposed to Makenna on July 1, 2018 near Summit Lake on Mt. Evans. They were up there for a family day after church. They were walking around summit lake and she turned around and there he was on one knee! Will you merry me, of course Makenna said yes.
Their wedding at Church Ranch Event Center was absolutely wonderful. It was elegant and beautiful but also so FUN! It truly went by so fast. When planning there are two pieces of advice that Makenna would like to share. 1) Do not compare your wedding details to others! Find pieces you like from other couples but don’t compare. Everyone’s wedding is so unique in different ways and that’s what makes it beautiful. 2) ENJOY EVERY SECOND it goes by so fast! When you’re picking your wedding photographer, PICK A GREAT ONE. It is worth spending a little extra money to find someone who truly captures your special day and does it well. It is such a special treasure to look back at those and remember what it felt like in those moments.
Makenna found her dress at Brilliant Bridal in Denver. It was flowy with a lot of lace! It had two straps loaded with jewels and the back had a mesh that was buttoned up with beads. She knew this dress was the one because she felt beautiful in it but it also felt like her!
