There is so much to say about this wedding and family. I’m so happy I was able to be part of such an amazing wedding. I first meet Kathy when she was a bridesmaid at her cousin’s wedding that I photographed. So I was over the moon when she picked me to be her wedding photographer. This was such a fun, sweet bunch. After I captured the girls getting ready, I meet up with my second photographer Kelsey at Lionscrest Manor. There she informed me that they did some of the guys photos at Target as they had enough time for a beer run. These some of best groomsman photos I’m seen. It just goes to show up how fun they are.
I heard one of the most amazing stories I’ve ever heard during the brides sister speech. The Little White Dress in Denver and the wedding dress designer Matthew Christopher when to great lengths to make this one of a kind story.
Five years ago today I found my wedding dress. We lost our Mom almost 5 years ago to breast cancer. My mom wasn’t one for good-byes or hand written letters, but she had one request. She wanted to see my sister and I try on wedding dresses before she died. I was hesitant about the idea, mostly because it was a harsh reminder of what our future would ultimately become. However, my sister organized the day and got an appointment set up at The Little White Dress in Denver. We had a great time trying on dresses, eating a nice dinner, and enjoying our time together. Two weeks later, my mom died.
Fast forward to last Fall, and it was time for me to find a wedding dress. I had kept the style number and designer name (Matthew Christopher) from that day with Mom. On a whim, I reached out to the boutique about the dress and told them my story. The owner was touched said she would do whatever she could to find the dress. As it turned out, the dress I liked had two variations: one of them was discontinued, one was not. However, they had the discontinued one in the store that I could try on. The dress was too small, so the store reached out to Matthew Christopher to see what could be done. When Matthew heard the story, he wrote back and said he would make me any dress I wanted. The dress I that I wore on my wedding day is the exact one that my Mom saw me try on.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart to The Little White Dress and Matthew Christopher and his team for making this dream a reality 💜” – Kathy
Kathy and Chris met at a pizza place. He invited her to join him and a ‘few’ friends (7 other men) to watch football with them. Chris proposed on their first trip to a local winery using a special champagne flute which had a ring tied to it. He got down on one knee, and the rest is history! They had been together for almost 3 years.

They chose not to see each other before the wedding because it was such fun to wait and feel that thrill right as the ceremony was starting. She did, however, do a ‘first look’ with her dad which was a highlight of the day. “I wasn’t anxious or nervous,” Kathy said. “I was really excited to see all our friends from different phases in our lives” and her brother officiated the ceremony all in all making this most special day… even more special.

Their florist was Lace and Lilies and their DJ wasCappton Reid. Their first dance song was No One Has Eyes Like You by Billy Currington. Their videographer was SC Films.
Kathy’s advice to future brides:
Think about what your priorities are and stick to them. Don’t let the extra stuff stress you out. Also, if you have an open bar, designate a water person. You don’t eat much dinner, plus once the party starts you will be excited. Having a designated person to bring you water all night will keep you from having a headache the next morning.
Bring make up, water bottle, change of shoes, deodorant, and a cell phone charger. But put someone else in charge of your bag so you don’t have to deal with it at the end of the night.
Have your fella make sure the guys didn’t drink too much beforehand so they were more likely to cooperate with the photographer. And “Hire Danna Frost! hahaha but seriously. Hire a photographer that is assertive yet fun and gets things done in a timely manner. I’ve had friends who had awful photography experiences at their wedding and it added so much unnecessary stress.”
