This had to be one of my favorite weddings I have ever shot. I love 10 mile station and really enjoyed working with Lisa and Madsen. I’m a sucker for dramatic weather and they had it!! This day was amazing. I just loved Lisa’s style and vision she had for her destination Colorado wedding. We started out at their condo for some getting ready photos and then head up to 10 mile station where we finished the getting ready photos along with the first look. They were troopers and were up for anything, as a photographer I love that as they trusted me to give them some amazing wedding photos.
We need to push up the ceremony just a little as the storm was coming in. In one of my favorite photos, you could see the birds taking off trying to get a way for the storm that was coming. For couples coming in from out of state, you have to remember that it usually rains everyday in the mountains and for the most part, it passes in 15-20min. Well in the middle of the ceremony, it started to get pretty bad so we called it and headed inside for the reminder of the ceremony. I know a lot of couples get someone they know to officiate the ceremony so I would set up a game plan for if it does start to rain during the ceremony. There are a couple of options, you get straight to exchanging the rings and the first look, proceed with the wedding and enjoy the Colorado wedding, or move it inside and have everyone stand around for the remainder of the ceremony. But don’t stress as your day is your day and will still be amazing!!
